Apricot Sakuraba (アプリコット・桜葉 Apurikotto Sakuraba), simplified to Rico, is the first member of the Rune Angel Troupe and pilots the Emblem Frame "Cross Caliber". She is the younger sister of Milfeulle Sakuraba, who she admires immensely. She has a pathological reflex toward males and gains an immense surge of strength, that can be on the same level as Doomguy from DOOM Eternal: The Ancient Gods, to frequently throw them over her shoulder, a sort of trait that allowed her petite frame to support her superhuman strength. She is the counterpart to her sister in both character and role in combat. Despite not being really athletic, she is known for having a superhuman amount of strength, durability and speed. Somehow, she has immunity against possessions and abnormal resistance to spicy food. She is the main protagonist of Galaxy Angel II Apricot Alternative, Galaxy Angel RED DOOM and Galaxy Angel HALO.

Early Life (若いころ)[]

Early in her youth, Rico asked her mother to take her to see an idol concert but was separated from her when a fire unexpectedly broke out during the performance in one of the buildings owned by the Blancmanche Company. Rico was forcibly stuck inside a room filled with other attendees, most of them male and the collective panicking has frightened her, which caused her to develop her fear of males AKA androphobia. Luckily she escaped from the room and reunited with her family. She was given new hairpins by Milfie after losing her original ones during the panic.
Joining the Rune Angel Wing (ルーンエンジェル隊に参加)[]

After the canon events of Eternal Lovers, a Chrono Gate has appeared and was found near Juno and the central dimensional hub ABSOLUTE was accessed by the Angel Wing and the Elsior. With the technological assets still preserved and with Milfie discovered having the uncanny ability to operate the Master Core, the age of discovery has repeated itself as the Transbaal Empire sought to find other civilizations in the outlying Chrono Gates that led to other dimensions. Apricot most likely joined military service to follow in her sister's footsteps, having undergone through Forte's training and was chosen as the pilot of the Cross Caliber when it was discovered in NEUE during a survey, becoming the first member of the new Rune Angel Wing followed by Kahlua, Lily, Nano and two girls named Ray Azar (RA-007) and Asuca Sethos (RA-008) when she met them while they were trained by Forte. Rico also gets to learn a bit about her friends's past. She was shown where the Cross Caliber was discovered by the Elsior and Moon Angel Troupe. Before they leave, Mint gives Rico a Telepathic Fur, a sort of parasitic creature native to the Blancmanche planet that allows her to determine the emotional levels of the Angel Wing members as well as show her their respective locations, while also assuring that the creature doesn't move and will not harm Rico in any way.
Rico and the others get a ship named the Neo Luxiole, which is a larger and upgraded version of the original Luxiole. Not only that, it has a hot spring too. After that, Rico gets called in for a scouting mission.
Meeting Anise (アニスとの出会い)[]

Rico was scouting with the others to search for enemies when they see the Relic Raider. Rico opens communication with the Relic Raider, revealing the pilot to be Anise Azeat. Anise demands a race challenge to Rico to see if she can get fast enough. Rico accepts the challenge and the two race each other when Tequila gives the start sign. The race comes to a halt when the Relic Raider gets hit by small asteroids. Nano uses Repair Wave at Rico's request to fix what damages the asteroids have caused to the Relic Raider. She is brought to the Neo Luxiole as a guest, Anise was suggested by Rico and Kahlua that she work as part of the Rune Angel Wing to pay off her debt from Mint, since she was in possession of an Emblem Frame, as well as having the skill to effectively pilot it. As such, she was enlisted as a new member of the Rune Angel Troupe. Kahlua asks her why she wanted a race challenge with Rico, Anise explains that she heard of Rico being the younger sister of the former Moon Angel Troupe member Milfeulle Sakuraba and that she had to escape from the enemy because she didn't want her Relic Raider to be taken. The duo share the information with Coco who calls the bridge to find the enemy that targets Anise. When they found out where the enemy was, Rico deploys first and the team quickly repels the enemy fleet.
Soon afterwards, Anise apologizes to Rico for demanding a race challenge out of the blue, Rico is a bit embarassed and asks her not to apologize much to Kahlua and Mimolette's amusement. She goes to Anise's personal room and look in awe, Rico sees that Anise is satisfied with it and is about leave but is stopped by Anise because she wants to show her what she can as a thank you and ask her to close her eyes. Some minutes later, Anise is done and tells her she can open her eyes, Rico opens her eyes and is confused at what just happened. Rico asks Anise if she did something to her while her eyes were closed, to which Anise teasingly reveals that she snatched Rico's skirt as a prank. That alerts Rico that her skirt is gone and screams in embarassment.
Rescuing a Princess (王女の救出)[]
Rico was working to check for supplies when she is called to the briefing room with Kahlua, Nano, Lily, Anise, Ray and Asuca where Coco informs her that they received a distress signal from an Emblem Frame, the Papillon Chaser and tasks her to go to distress signal's location. The Rune Angel Wing deploy to find the Papillon Chaser that sent out the distress signal. They discover the Emblem Frame that had some scratches and minor damages but its engines were still alright. The pilot opens communication with her, revealing to be Natsume Izayoi, the princess of the Izayoi family, much to Rico's surprise. Natsume explains she sent out the distress signal because she was caught off guard due to a surprise attack by the enemy fleet who are actually space pirates. Tequila alerts Rico that the enemy fleet responsible for the surprise attack has been seen.

The Rune Angel Wing, along with Natsume, destroy the enemy fleet and Natsume's damaged Emblem Frame was brought into the Neo Luxiole's Hangar while she herself was taken in by the Neo Luxiole. Natsume is given a tour around the ship by Rico to get herself familiar with. Natsume, who is curious about Rico being a pilot, asks her why she joined millitary service and Rico explains that she joined the Rune Angel Wing because she wanted to follow in Milfie's footsteps. Natsume, touched by this, feels concerned about having to carry a huge responsibility to do it and asks her if she has any regrets joining military service, which Rico replies she has none and that she is happy that she joined the Rune Angel Wing, much to Natsume's surprise. Rico brings Natsume to the Piroti where she introduces her to the Rune Angel Wing, with Nano becoming friends with her. Then the duo go to the mess hall to eat something (unknown to them, Lily, Anise, Nano, Kahlua, Ray and Asuca are stealthily following them), the foods offered here pipques Natsume's curiosity due to her sheltered life. Rico sees this and decides to help Natsume learn about food. Rico orders a curry and Natsume orders macarons. After finding a table to eat, Natsume hesitates a bit before eating the macaron and seeing how good it tasted, she finished her food much to Rico's amusement.
In the Galaxy Observation Park, Rico asks her about the mark on her forehead, which she explains it can invoke a barrier for self-defense. Rico brings up her hesitation back in the mess hall and asks if she has never eaten sweets before much to her embarassment and Natsume notes about her life, how she had previously despised the notion of becoming a princess as she did not want for her sole identity to be known as the princess and preferred to be treated as an individual. Rico, feeling sorry for her, pinches her cheeks to cheer her up and notes that being depressed might affect her performance in combat. Natsume is amused at this and pinches Rico's cheeks as a payback to tease her for it. Rico hears a sneeze and turns around to see a tail in the bushes, and realizes that Nano, Lily, Kahlua, Anise, Ray and Asuca are here. Having been found out, the six come out of the bushes and explain that Lily thought that Rico might be doing something "funny" to Natsume, much to the duo's embarassment, Rico retorts that she is misunderstanding it. Lily gets embarassed realizing what she was thinking and apologizes for the misunderstanding.
The Shuttle explosion (シャトルの爆発)[]
The Shuttle explodes, sending debris flying everywhere.
Rico and Kahlua are assigned by Tact to take a shuttle back to Seldar to pick up Forte. Kahlua switches to Tequila because she has a bad feeling something bad might happen. Rico and Tequila are on the way to Seldar, but a large-scale battle that previously took place near the planet has coated the area with debris. Conditions get worse as the debris hit the shuttle and Tequila reports that the engines have been damaged enough that it will soon overload, Rico decides to put the Autopilot on to get the explosion as far away as possible and the duo evacuate the ship with the shuttle on the verge of detonation. As the two move away to a safe distance, Rico quickly realizes that the resulting explosion will send the debris outward towards them and positions herself between Tequila and the explosion. Tequila wonders what Rico is doing but quickly realizes what she is planning and tries to stop her. As Rico feared, the shuttle's explosion sends the debris flying and she is able to shield Tequila from harm. A number of shards puncture through her suit and Rico starts coughing blood and her consciousness starts to dim. Tequila seals the suit puncture caused by the shards but Rico remains in critical condition. Rico tells Tequila that she didn't want Kahlua to be hurt and the others to be sad before she passes out.
Rico regains consciousness much later and finds herself in the Infirmary where Mordent welcomes her back and explains that Rico and Tequila's assignment was completed by someone else and calls Kahlua down as he prepares to excuse himself. Kahlua arrives in the Infirmary and adresses gratitude as she completely shielded her from harm. Kahlua asks if there is anything at all she can do for her as a thank you, and continues to insist despite Rico's assurances that she's fine. Finally, Rico half-jokingly asks her to lie down with her and to her surprise, she shyly agrees. While lying side-by-side, Kahlua asks Rico if she still feels pain somewhere. Rico answers that she isn't feeling any pain thanks to her superhuman durability. Kahlua shyly admits that she heard everything she said before passing out, much to Rico's embarassment. She then tells her the full detail of her past and how Tequila's personality was born (Similiar to the canon, except that Kahlua didn't lose her magical talent from a traumatizing incident and that she came up with the idea to separate herself with her personality with the help of Caraway). Rico was touched by her story and confessed that she had learned some details of her past before but not the full version of it, surprising Kahlua, who asks her if she remembered what she said before passing out. Rico admits it was embarassing to say something like that because Kahlua and Tequila are both the same person and confesses that she likes them both. Kahlua, touched by this, switches to Tequila and kisses her on the forehead in return. The two share a snuggle before Nano and Natsume burst in to check on Rico, causing the two to leap apart in embarassment.
Full potential (最大の可能性)[]
Rico was relaxing in the park when she is called for the meeting because an enemy fleet of a wanted criminal named Dippy Rocker, who causes "petty" deeds, which include more serious crimes, and evaded arrest, was found. The Rune Angel Wing deploy to fight off the enemy fleet and catch Dippy. Dippy tries to shoot at Rico, but screws up because the aiming system malfunctioned and ends up hitting the Spell Caster instead. He realized he really screwed up as Rico gets really mad before her Cross Caliber sprouts angelic wings from the side of the hull that physically show the vessel's full potential being unlocked and goes on a rampage. Lily, Anise, Nano, Natsume, Ray, Asuca, and even Tequila, who was a bit embarassed hearing what Rico said to Dippy, were dumbstruck to see Rico being really angry and her vessel's wings as they saw her rampage. Dippy, seeing Rico really angered because he hit Tequila instead, was so scared that he crapped his pants in fear before fainting. He gets arrested and is taken away. Rico, exhausted, stops her rampage and the angelic wings disappear. Back on the Neo Luxiole, as the Emblem Frames are retrieved, Rico wobbly goes to Tequila, who is luckily unhurt. Tequila sees her exhausted and Mimolette notes that the battle must have been exhausting for her. Rico is relieved that they are still okay before she collapses from exhaustion, alerting the two and others.
Rico wakes up in the Infirmary after that where Mordent welcomes her back. He explains to her that he was quite surprised what he heard from Anise that she got really angry because of Dippy hit Tequila instead due to a aiming malfunction and Cross Caliber sprouting wings showing it's unlocked full potential. As Tequila enters the Infirmary, Mordent quietly excuses himself from the room. Tequila tells her that Dippy has been finally arrested thanks to her. Rico remembers her rampage, feeling ashamed, and apologizes to Tequila for losing her composure. Tequila dismisses it and tells her she did the right thing and teasefully explains that Rico scared Lily, Anise, Nano, Natsume, Ray and Asuca with her rampage and she heard her words to Dippy, which embarasses Rico, who retorted that she was worried about her. They wonder what they will hear as they are called to the Bridge. As the Rune Angel Wing arrive there, they see Tact, Coco and a dark skinned man. Coco introduces the man to them as Tapio Ca, the Subcommander, much to Rico and Kahlua's confusion about why. Coco explains that Tact will not be returning to command because he is now Chief of the newly formed United Parallel Worlds, much to the duo's shock. Rico asks who will be his successor now that he is no longer commanding the Neo Luxiole, Tact assures them and explains that Coco has been chosen as the commander to take over his place with Tapio as second-in-command. He clears his voice and announces that Coco is officially promoted to Colonel and Tapio second-in-command underneath Coco's leadership. Tact lays his hand on Rico to say goodbye but as soon as he does that, she screams and throws him over her shoulder, much to the amusement of others as they know that Rico has androphobia. Coco promptly explains to Tapio that Rico has a pathological reflex towards males and as he just witnessed, she will throw any male who so as much makes physical contact with her.
A fatal injury (致命傷)[]
Midway through the journey to a Chrono Gate, Coco deploys the Angel Wing to clear out the enemy scouting forces in their proximity. At the battle's end, Nano and Rico discover one more enemy signature and request that they check it out. The two discover a derelict enemy ship and prepared to head back, only for one of its turrets to come back online and fire at the Emblem Frames, but Rico shoots down the enemy ship down before it could hit the First Aider. Before the explosion reached the turret, it fires a few last small shots and one of them hits the Cross Caliber and pierces through its hull. The shot hits Rico in the right elbow, severing her right arm and slightly grazing the right side of her stomach, which was witnessed by Tequila through Mimolette, who is with Rico as a precaution. On the Neo Luxiole, Naoru Ogyouji reports that the Cross Caliber has received a critical shot. Coco quickly rushes to the Hangar as the Emblem Frames are retrieved. She reaches the Cross Caliber first and orders for the cockpit to be opened, and is shocked at Rico's current state and the rest of the team have the same reactions as they realized what happened to Rico when Tequila mentioned her severed arm. While Coco contacts Mordent, Tequila slips by her with Nano and enters the Cross Caliber and seals the Emblem Frame shut behind her, much to the clamor of voices outside. Tequila inspects Rico's condition as something clearly beyond what normal healing can accomplish and uses her magic with Nano's nanomachines to restore Rico's fatal injury with ease thanks to her unbelieveable mana pool. The Cross Caliber's cockpit opens and shows Rico's arm restored with a smiling Tequila and Nano giving an ok sign.
Later, Rico wakes up in the infirmary and is quickly met by Lily who informs her that she was unconscious for 3 days while Mordent enters the room and asks if Rico is feeling alright. Lily asks if she has forgotten what happened and Rico remembers the derelict enemy battleship and getting hit by it. She assumes since she's safe, she and Nano made it out fine. Mordent tells her to rest now and talk later, but Kahlua intervenes and saying that Rico at least deserves the right to know what happened. Lily explains that Tequila used her magic and Nano her nanomachines to heal Rico's fatal injury out of concern for her condition. Nano, Natsume, Anise, Ray and Asuca arrive and are relieved to see Rico has woken up and to Rico's surprise, Milfie is here too because she was extremely worried about her when she was told about the fatal injury. Rico feels concerned because she shouldn't leave the Master Core room, but Milfie assures her and explains that the discovery of two new Gatekeepers has finally allowed her to leave her post temporarily, a fact that makes Rico and the others happy.
The Anniversary (記念日)[]
Rico walks on a grass field to relax her mind before she gets on her shuttle and set course for Juno to attend the anniversary of Eden's liberation from the Val-Fasq. On the way to Juno, Rico finds out there is an ion storm in the way of the shortest path, so she decides to take a detour. The Rune Angel Wing wait around a lobby until Rico enters the guest room where they note that some events of the celebration have been delayed due to her unexpected detour which is explained by Rico and everyone enters another room to regroup with their seniors. Forte and Milfie have trouble putting on their old uniforms and Milfie complains about why they have to wear their previous attire. Mint explains that they have no choice as the anniversary of the truce between the EDEN civilization and Val-Fasq require them to appear in their old clothes to relive and honor the occasion. Rico and the team enter and marvel at their senior’s appearances. Milfie, Chitose, and Forte are frightened by the prospect of weight gain while Vanilla, Mint, and Ranpha note no problems in fitting back into theirs and Anise takes the chance to tease Mint of her unchanged height. Natsume asks about the Moon Angel Wing and they decide to formally introduce themselves to her as they didn't have the chance to do so before. Natsume orders for Rico to introduce her to the Moon Angel Wing and Rico does it so while also explaining how Natsume met the Rune Angel Wing.
She explains the circumstances of her rescue and the Moon Angel Wing are surprised to see how much faith and maturity Natsume shows towards her people and their decision. Tact and co. enter the room and everyone notes their old uniforms as well. The Rune Angel Wing particularly note Coco’s old uniform and she embarrassingly changes the topic to inform them that she won’t be returning to the Neo Luxiole for a few days and requests that Rico organize the wallscrolls in the Commander’s room and bring them back when she gets the chance to do it as Tact mentions that he wanted to spruce up his boring office in the Central Globe. Coco reminds Tact of another matter and he orders everyone to listen and walks over to Natsume. Tact clears his voice and announces that Natsume is now officially enlisted as a new member of the Rune Angel Wing and hands over her personalized uniform. Natsume decides to change into them immediately and signals Lily and the latter requests for everyone to exit the room. Outside, the crew are curious as to why and Rico notes Natsume's native tradition does not allow anyone to see her bare body. The conversation quickly changes to the girls planning a hot springs trip and soon enough, Natsume steps out of the room in her uniform where everybody admires her nicely matched outfit.
With the Elsior docked near the main plaza, Almo welcomes the enormous crowd and gives the opening words to Tact with thunderous applause cheering for the Hero of the Empire. Tact recounts Juno’s liberation from the Val-Fasq and how their efforts have paved the future through the founding the ABSOLUTE, the foundation of the UPW, and the alliances created between universes. Tact stresses that as the times have changed, the Val-Fasq themselves have changed as well and hopes for the unity between the people of EDEN and the Val-Fasq to last forever. With the proceedings ending and fireworks launched, Anise and Nano race to the banquet area only to be stopped by Tapio, who informs them that they are not general attendees and they are not allowed to eat the food just yet. He directs them to help the Elsior prepare for its celebratory cruise and Rune Angel Wing head to work. Tapio starts to leave as well after addressing Rico until a child comes up to Tapio, calling him an old-man. The boy asks Tapio if he is in the military and asks if the Val-Fasq are bad people and Rico, knowing Tapio’s blunt nature, feels concerned and intervenes to answer the boy's questions, much to Tapio's surprise. Anise shouts at the two from far away and angrily yells at them to help with preparations, particularly Tapio, as he was the one who told her to do so in the first place. Tapio and Rico then head to assist.
With the Elsior ready to take off, Almo thanks everyone for attending the ceremony and concludes the day's events. Rico and Kahlua stretch with the brunt of the work finished and Natsume complains and states she wishes to return to her room. The trio notice an odd individual near the crowd. Natsume discovers the suspicious individual drop a nail and sees something akin to a bomb during his panic. She concludes that he’s someone who wants to disrupt the ceremony and throws the nail to Rico. Natsume is grabbed by the perpetrator and he demands the nail back to finish his device. Natsume escapes from him after biting his arm and reveals she took the rest of the ammunition the perpetrator had after discerning the weapon was a traditional firearm, which explains how it was undetected. She taunts him to shoot and he eventually does so and Natsume deflects the lone bullet with a strange barrier emitted from the mark on her forehead. Rico knocks off the prepetrator's weapon with a gun she kept and Kahlua knocks him out with a sleeping spell before Lily apprehends the individual.
Back on the Neo Luxiole, Tapio is given the report of what happened and states that nothing can be done at the moment as Coco is not present. Natsume is handed an enormous manual for future reference to match her duties of a lieutenant but more importantly, Anise brings up what Natsume had used to stop the bullet. Lily is curious and states that she had seen it first hand when she first met with Natsume and Kahlua wishes to know if the technique is magic-based. Natsume is unsure of what exactly to categorize her ability and Kahlua wishes to see it in effect and Natsume asks for Anise to throw something at her. After a small debate on what to throw, Anise throws a brooch at Natsume who promptly deflects it. Kahlua senses no mana being used and describes the barrier as something akin to the abilities used by fairies and spirits. Rico asks if other people in the Arms Alliance are able to use it and Natsume states that only females of her household are able to invoke it. Lily notices how Natsume has begun calling everyone by their first names and Natsume sees that it is only fit that she does so now that she’s officially a part of the unit. With the issues settled, Tapio ends the meeting and Rico requests permission to retrieve Tact’s wallscroll.
Later on, Rico runs into the crew in the Piroti laughing about something and they explain that Ranpha gave them a horoscope program that estimated love compatibility and the crew were entertained when they entered Nano and Natsume’s names and got a 200% result. Rico tries her name with Kahlua's and Tequila's and gets the result of 500%, embarrassing the two while the rest change the subject. The team is curious to know what other names to add, but they decide to give up on that because it might cause some silly things to happen.
Relaxing in Hokkori (ほっこりでリラックス)[]

Rico gets notified they are going to the resort of Hokkori to have fun. She thinks about what activities they will start with like watermelon smashing or Volleyball. She leaves for her shuttle to Hokkori. When she arrived, she was surprised that the rest of the Rune Angel Wing are here too. Rico gets dragged to go shopping with Tequila, but was so embarrassed to think they might go to a lingerie shop that she was close to fainting from embarrassment, but Tequila tells her that they are going to shop for swimsuits much to her relief. Rico meets up with the Rune Angel Wing in the swimsuit shop to choose their swinsuits, and hilarity ensues. The girls enjoy themselves on the resort's beach and are engaging in a variety of activities on Hokkori, including that Rico finds Lily's extremely revealing swimsuit embarassingly distracting. Unfortunately, the fun is ruined when they see reports that Rippy, the twin of Dippy, causes petty trouble around Hokkori, which upsets Rico as she remembers the incident with Dippy. Not wanting Rippy to cause more nasty troubles, the Rune Angel Wing decide to hatch a plan with the locals to catch him. Just as he arrives to steal something, he gets busted by Rico and the others.
A certain spell (ある呪文)[]
Rico is taking a rest in her room from the incident with Rippy in Hokkori, before going to check the supplies and finds out the Neo-Luxiole is low on supplies and notifies Coco about this. Meanwhile, Kahlua, Nano, Anise, Lily, Natsume, Ray and Asuca were in the tea lounge discussing about what they could do. To their surprise, Rico arrives here to explain that the ship will go for a resupply and maintenance and suggests that going to a restaurant might be a good idea. The seven were about to reply, but their stomach growled, making it clear that they are hungry much to their embarassment, which amuses Rico. Rico explains that there is a curry restaurant in Magiic where Ranpha, the ambassador of EDEN, works here. Coco notifies the Rune Angel Wing that the Neo-Luxiole will set its course for Magiic for a resupply. Once the ship arrived here, Coco issued for resupply while she gave the Angel Wing a small break and allowed them to make planet-fall. The Rune Angel Wing go to a nearby curry restaurant that had recently opened. They immediately hear some commotion going from a customer who complains about his food. Anise decides to stop the man from making too much noise and she pickpockets him to see that he was trying to get a free meal as his wallet was completely empty. The man tries to retaliate and Anise prepares herself before someone else kicks the swindler away. The team recognize the individual as Ranpha Franboise, the ambassador Rico had mentioned. Anise takes an immediate liking to Ranpha for her display of physical ability. Ranpha however takes more interest in Kahlua, who Ranpha has heard of. The restaurant chef thanks the team for dealing with the rabblerouser and offer them some complimentary food and the team head to their seats.
Food is served with Rico having the spicy curry and Mimolette expresses interest in Ranpha's bright red curry but Rico tells him its very spicy and warns him not to taste it. Anise expresses her concern if she can eat it without being affected by the extreme spice. To the team's shock and Ranpha's surprise, Rico seems to be unaffected by the spice of her curry and seems to enjoy it, realizing she has spice resistance like Anise, to which Ranpha teases her for. Ranpha asks why the team visited and they explain that they were given some free time while the Neo Luxiole is getting resupplied. Ranpha returns to her casual-style and is surprised to learn that someone like Kahlua has joined the Angel Wing and Rico asks if it is that much of a big deal. Ranpha explains that Kahlua is a top ranked A-class mage alongside 11 other similarly ranked mages in all of NEUE to make group known as "The Twelve". Ranpha recounts Kahlua's victory in the duel to decide who would take the seat among the 12 a few years ago. The team is surprised what Kahlua did back then before. Their conversation gets interrupted when they hear a Chef screaming that a fire has broken out in the kitchen. The team heads toward the kitchen to find the swindler from before setting the kitchen on fire with some magic stones and running off. Anise, Ranpha and Ray give chase while Rico tells Nano, Lily, Natsume and Asuca to help evacuate and Kahlua switching to Tequila. Rico, along with Tequila and Mimolette, enters the kitchen. She uses the fire extinguisher while Tequila uses her magic to put out the fire. Later on, the trio leave the burnt building and are met by the rest of the team. The team wonder who supplied the swindler from before with some magic stones. Rico notices a cloaked figure walking that Tequila recognizes as Dieta, her former classmate and the duo approach her. Having been seen, Dieta reveals herself and invokes a non-lethal curse on Tequila, knocking her out and gets away.
Upon returning to the Neo Luxiole, the Angel Wing report to Coco of the situation while Kahlua is examined by Mordent. Ranpha arrives and they meet up with her on the Bridge. Ranpha compliments the new Angel Wing for their actions in the shop and Rico sheepishly accepts her praise. Tequila bursts into the Bridge and asks to speak with Coco and Rico in private inside the Briefing Room. The two agree to hear her out and Tequila explains that while she does not know exactly what the curse will mean for them, she fears the worst in what effects may have but notes that the curse is an non-lethal one so she will not be in any immediate danger. She also reveals that Dieta was responsible for the fire as well, supplying the swindler with the fire-imbued stones. Tequila finishes her "report" and returns to her room but also drags Rico out with her. Outside her room, Tequila requests for Mimo stay out for a minute and invites Rico in.
Tequila asks Rico if she remembers Dieta invoking a curse on her to which she confirms and vividly remembers. Tequila smiles and teases Rico that she is something akin to a "honor student", which embarasses Rico. Tequila tells her she discovered something embarassing that the curse can affect her sexual urges in a funny way. But then, she starts to feel extremely tired and changes back to Kahlua, who concludes that the curse is making her feel tired and expresses worry that it might cause some very unpleasant effects. Rico and Kahlua walk around to check up on everyone. Once done, they take a breather. Meanwhile, Mimolette and the others discuss about the incident in the restaurant when they suddenly feel a a large disturbance and the warning signal goes off. They realize that something important must have been damaged as the PA system announces that the floor will begin to depressurize. Anise tries to contact the Bridge but communications are malfunctioning as well. The crew rush on over in front of Kalhua and Rico's door to secure their safety but the duo are unable to open the door's seal in time and everyone collapses in front of her door. Rico opens the door and makes way for Kahlua to cast a spell that forms a protective field of air around them with.

Everyone regains conscious and catches a glimpse of Kahlua's spell before she sighs in relief. Ranpha instead is amazed and everyone else agrees. Coco herself comes down to check on everyone and is relieved to see everyone unharmed. Coco explains that some of the staff of the spaceport were manipulated into sabotaging the communications and the shields. Coco notes that the workers were acting strangely and Kahlua suspects the subterfuge as Dieta's work. Coco share good news as the Neo-Luxiole is still able to open communications and Kahlua asks if any enemies are near. Coco informs her that the radars picked up an enemy fleet closing in but they were spread out in a strange formation. Kahlua recognizes this and states that Dieta has formed a magic seal using the ships as catalysts to inhibit magic. With magic being the obvious source to power the fleet, the Magiic fleet is unable to take action which leads the Neo-Luxiole to do work alone to solve this problem.

TV Tropes (canon and non-canon ones)[]
- Badass Adorable: One of the sweetest girls of the franchise who only happens to have recently entered her teens but also completely capable of tossing solid stone statues, armed robotic sentries, and fully armored men like bowling balls with absolute ease. She could use her strength to do some heavy lifting.
- Berserk Button: The one time Rico gets incredibly upset is during her route in the canon Eigou Kaiki no Toki where a rumor spreads on the ship that she and Kazuya have gotten engaged. Embarrassed beyond belief, they go around trying to correct the rumor but she is quick in noticing that Kazuya seems way more against the notion of them getting married later on with how vehement he is in wanting to fix the misunderstanding due to embarrassment. In comparison, while still embarrassed, she doesn't find the idea unpleasant or out of the realm of possibility. This eventually leads to Rico punching Kazuya across the room and leaving her in tears. In the non-canon case, hurting her friends and loved ones or pissing her off is absolutely a very bad idea.
- Freudian Excuse: When she was a child, Rico went to an idol concert and got stuck inside a room filled with other attendees, most of them male and the collective panicking frightened her. The darkened room and mass of people thrashing around with the little Rico being between everyone caused her to develop her fear of males.
- Mature Younger Sibling: Rico, despite being one of the younger members of her unit, comes off as a lot more mature and studious in her duties in the military than her sister, who aside from fighting, mostly stuck to gardening and cooking. Rico in comparison writes up the reports for the benefit of the team in the briefing room meetings, organizes the ship's stock, and helps with other tasks around the ship. Rico however still knows when to have her fun though.

With the Space Whale's absence on the Neo Luxiole, Tact had utilized this item to better gauge how the Rune Angel Wing were feeling and he passes it down to Rico. Apparently the Telepathic Fur was a gift Tact received from Mint. All Rico needs to do is to hold the fur, close her eyes, think of her teammates, and their locations and mood are transmitted to her.
- Loves My Alter Ego: Played with Kahlua/Tequila in The Shuttle explosion.
- Made Of Iron: Rico can physically endure quite a hell lot of damage compared to Tact.
- The pick-up mission (The Shuttle explosion) has her and her spacesuit getting punctured by space ship debris that has her cough up blood and lose consciousness afterward, that must have hurt. Mordent tells Rico after she regains consciousness that she's lucky to be alive.

Appearance[]
In lieu of her adoration for her older sister, Rico wears nearly the same exact variation/modifications of her sister's skirt, only with the main color being orange to match her hair color. Rico's personal uniform consists of a two separate pieces with a regular jacket and a sleeveless top with a black lower portion and white upper portion with a small, red tie. Rico's hair reaches her neck and she ties her hair into two small pigtails adorned with pink ribbons. On certain occasions, Rico will not utilize her ribbons and her hair will become straight and collectively reach her back.
Personality[]
Rico is characterized by her awesome level-headed thinking and unbiased generosity, the latter being one of the traits she she shares with her older sister. Likewise, Rico's immense adoration for her sister is reflected through a similar uniform and hairstyle. Unlike her sister though, Rico does not share a passion for cooking, but is very skilled in it and is exceptionally well-versed in organization and planning. While nowhere near as clumsy as Milfie, Rico has her own case of accident-prone mistakes but only in times of nervousness or embarrassment. These positive traits of her intelligence and kindness usually makes her the first person a fellow Rune Angel Wing would consult in times of trouble and/or romantic crisis. On her part, she is the most sympathetic and active in attempting to repair any relationship issues for others.
Putting her skills to use, Rico is rarely ever found in her room as she busied herself around the ship. Rico's main duty other than combat had her in the Storage Room to keep stock of supplies. This also had her well acquainted with the other crew-members as her quick learning allowed her to directly assist in many of the jobs she came to help with. This included being well versed in maintaining her Emblem Frame and also helping in the Engine Room. Even not when not helping crew-members in their stations, she was willing to help to just about anyone in their troubles.
Rico's comedic elements comes from her extreme displays of strength when she comes into contact with males. While Rico's kindness was not discriminant, any male that made contact with her would be sent flying over her shoulder. This caused her to be naturally very apologetic and extremely cautious around males to make sure she didn't hurt anybody. A secondary element came from her adoration of her sister where Rico initially was very dependent of her but eventually came to be more self-reliant on her own strengths.
She can be very frightening when she's mad or upset, just like when she activated the Angel Feather (AF) in rage and went on a rampage, showing that she can be very protective of her friends.
