Blue Pearl Island Story is a fantasy-adventure-comedy anime series produced by Toei Animation and Studio Deen.
Summary[]
The series takes place on an uncharted island somewhere in the Atlantic or Pacific Ocean called Blue Pearl Island, with some ruins and stone mountains on it. Blue Pearl Island has existed far longer than the human race, and its only inhabitant is a spirit named Marella who was responsible for creating all of the island's flora and fauna. It is her job to decide what the island will become. Marella is gentle and shy, and would very much prefer to be around her animal companions than other people. However, her peaceful life is disturbed one day when a group of people becomes stranded on Blue Pearl Island while on their way to a five-star vacation resort. Wanting to help the castaways but fearful of being discovered, Marella uses her abilities to give them some resources that they need in order to survive, and they get a very different vacation experience that ends up being more surprising than they ever thought it would be. The series teaches viewers about the beauties of Earth and how the environment should be protected.

Marella is the main protagonist of Blue Pearl Island Story. She's sweet and optimistic, but rather shy and introverted. She is very kind and loyal to the creatures who live on Blue Pearl Island. Because she has spent her entire life alone on the island with the animals, and because the island has never been inhabited by people, Marella does not know the castaways very well. She is somewhat hesitant to show herself to them, but is able to put their needs ahead of her own and help them in any way she can.

Chika is the youngest of the castaways. Despite her age, she is hyper-intelligent and can do almost anything some kids her age cannot. She is self-reserved and prefers hanging out with older people than other children, which is why she decided to go with her older brother on his trip to the vacation resort he and his friends were supposed to go to before they got stranded. Chika was the first of the castaways to notice Marella, and tried to tell them she is the one helping them out, but they don't really believe her.
