Tori Castell is one of the main characters of Elemental Shift.
Personality[]
Tori can be best described as a free spirit. She tells herself what to do, and doesn't listen to others bossing her around. She is rather shy, and only stays within a small group of friends that she likes. She tries not to make enemies, and avoids creating a negative relationship with someone. She is very kind, sweet and caring, traits admired by her family and friends. She tries her best to help others, unless it's at great personal expense. She can be quite brave, though her courage mixed with shyness usually leads to social awkwardness. She likes listening to calm music, and spending long nights talking to her best friend. She loves people with blue eyes (blue being her favourite colour), though this doesn't affect her judgement of them. Tori is also proud of her skills, and really believes her abilities are advanced. She uses powers in a more aesthetics > power sort of way. She sees her powers as a form of art, not combat, though she hopes to learn how to fight in Arcadius Academy.
Appearance[]
Tori looks exactly like her faceclaim. Tori looks very young for her age, as many people confuse her for a twelve year old, though she hates this and wishes she looked more her age. She has very elegant chocolate brown straight hair that reaches a few inches below her shoulders. She keeps it loose yet clean. She has been described by many to be naturally beautiful and her hair always looks natural, even though she doesn't spend much time putting make-up on; she hardly wears it anyway. She has sparkling sea blue eyes, though she doesn't get them from her father nor her mother, so her strange eye colour may just be a product of genetic mutation. She always tries to look her best ever since she left home, so her teeth are bright white and her clothes are neat and well-kept. She is 5'5" and is rather skinny.
What she wears is a bright pink girl's t-shirt, a light blue jean jacket on top of that, unbuttoned, which shows her pink shirt underneath, denim jeggings over her legs, and white Vans shoes.
Powers[]
Water[]
Inherited by her mother, Tori can control nearly all liquids and alter their state of matter with this ability, though it would seem; the truth is Tori's ability in Water Shifting itself is quite horrible. Tori finds difficulty is producing strong splashes of water or creating Tsunamis. Though Tori can generate acid, as she's proven before, and control the flow of water to her liking. She can make water flow through the air and control heavy rain. But overall her Water Shifting isn't refined for combat, despite being her dominant element, so she hopes she will learn better in Arcadius Academy.
Wind[]
Inherited by her father, Tori's ability to control wind currents and gas is decent. Tori can use this ability to blast objects away, hover through the air, or create graceful wind paterns through the open air. This is her recessive element, yet she finds it easier to use, and she had a lot more practice with it than Water.
Combo: Cyclone[]
This is where Tori's true potential lies. Tori has the rare ability to Cyclone Shift. As a Cyclone Shifter, Tori can generate powerful blasts of wind, enough to send houses flying, command huge waves of water to swipe her enemies away, or create cyclones in an instant. Though those abilities only show upon extreme emotion, but she still has good control over the weather, being able to summon rain or conjure clouds, and she has used this ability to impress people. It is described as her gift, and she strangely has more control over Cyclone Shifting than Water or Wind Shifting.
Abilities[]
- Entertainer: Tori used to work as a stage performer. This means she can put on shows involving her powers, and make them look amazing enough to impress people. She also has great agility and slightly above average reflexes. She's a great actor and dancer and can think fast and improvise.
- Prodigy: Tori was born with a remarkably high level of power. She unlocked Cyclone Shifting before she could even Wind Shift and has no problem generating acids and other liquids, despite not having a proper education.
History[]
Early Life[]
Victoria Castell was born in Cuba to a poor working class family of 6. That's two brothers, a sister, her mother and her father, Tori being the eldest. Tori's family wasn't the richest, they were quite poor. They couldn't afford basic things like food or a proper house. Tori couldn't afford to go to school, so her elemental abilities weren't the best. Her parents didn't have well-paying jobs, so Tori was forced to work at a young age. When Tori was 11, she started to practice her powers, though she wasn't very good. Until one day...
Prodigous Discovery[]
Tori met a boy named Dario Delgado, who was a Boil Shifter. He was not as poor as Tori, and was experienced in his elements. They became best friends and Dario helped Tori to discover her powers. One day when they were playing, Tori accidentally created a mini Cyclone and nearly destroyed the village, but she failed to make it last, and it died out. This was when Tori discovered that she could Cyclone Shift, and had Wind as a power alongside Fluid. Dario helped her draw out her Wind element from Cyclone, and saw her potential. Tori and Dario went to work as Stage Performers, and they used their elements to put on dance shows and acrobatics shows. This quickly got famous in their city and they started earning money as they got better. Tori eventually earned enough to help her family out.
Joining Arcadius Academy[]
Dario one day announced to Tori that he had to leave because he had a place in Arcadius Academy, a popular American Shifter school in San Marais. This was when Tori was 14 and a half. Tori continued to put on shows yet it got difficult without a partner. Tori really wanted to go to school and one day become a great Shifter. Word got out of Tori being a Cyclone Shifter, and she was offered a place in Arcadius Academy. Though there was only one problem: she couldn't afford to go. She dropped her dream of going and stayed to help her family. But her mother didn't let her abandon it, she told her to go learn at Arcadius Academy and gave her money to take a train and buy some clothing. Tori at first was hesitant, but her mother wouldn't take no for an answer. So Tori brought herself proper clothes, and took a train to Arcadius Academy to learn how to be a Shifter.
Modern Life[]
Currently, Tori lives in Arcadius Academy, with her old friend Dario as her roommate. She has made some friends and has more control over her powers. She hopes to one day be famous for her Shifting abilities, but she still has a long way to go.
