Next Generation Danganronpa: Dream Victory (known in Japan as Danganronpa NEXT: Dream Victory, ダンガンロンパ NEXT(ネクスト)ドリームビクトリー, Danganronpa Nekusuto: Dorīmu Bikutorī), often shortened to "NGDR" , is the sequel to Danganronpa V3, and was released on July 21st, 2018 for PlayStation 4, PlayStation Vita and Xbox One. The game is released in NA and EU on January 31st, 2019.

The game is also adapted into an anime called Next Generation Danganronpa: One's Sacrifice (also known in Japan as Danganronpa NEXT: THE ANIMATION, ダンガンロンパ NEXT(ネクスト) THE ANIMATION, Danganronpa Nekusuto: THE ANIMATION), which was set to air on MBS on <date> in Japan, and Cartoon Network, Disney XD and Nickelodeon on <date> in the US.

Plot[]

After making friends with the Future Foundation survivors, the main protagonist, 13-year old Miki Kurokawa, whose title is "Ultimate Warrior" moves out of Hope's Peak High School. There she meets many buddies who want to befriend her. So instead of being trapped in a school and forced into a game, it's an island adventure, where Miki and her friends explore the world and beat many foes coming their way. Along the journey, they are on the quest for the special prize—but what is it?

Characters[]

Miki Kurokawa (黒川三木 Kurokawa Miki?) (Voiced by: Rumi Ōkubo (Japanese), Cristina Vee (English)) − Miki is the viewpoint character, and one of the studentswho recently transferred to the new Hope's Peak High School along her friends Haruhi, Hayato, Miku, Nanase, Chizuru, Miho, Aiko, Miyako, Yurika, and . She is a bubbly, plucky, self-forgetful, strong, and agile second-year student, and is an expert at magic. At times, she becomes sober when she is upset or irritated. She wields the Ultra Elemental Blade (ウルトラ・エレメンタル・ブレード Urutora Erementaru Burēdo?), which she commonly uses in battle.

In the beginning of the game and anime, she had a discussion with her friends about how they survived the last Killing Game, but that was interrupted when they came face to face with the sadistic bear Monokuma, who said he vowed to kill them for surviving the Killing Game. This incident caused Miki to start the Extreme Hunter Game (which is like the Killing Game, except students don't kill each other). 

Her title is the Ultimate Swordswoman (超高校級の「剣士」 Chō kōkō kyū no "kenshi"?, lit. Super High School Level Swordswoman).

Haruhi Nakano[]

Haruhi is a 14-year-old who is one year older than Miki. She is a talkative go-getter who tends to use her attacks when threatened. In the anime, she independently develops feelings for Miki. She often competes in the Island Olympic Games depending on the area in which they occur, and this makes her feel excited when she wins first place. Her title is Ultimate Champion.

Hayato Furuhata[]

Hayato is a 16-year-old boy who is Miki's best friend. He is kind, curious and adventurous like Miki. He usually discusses about things with her, but despite this, they have a lot in common . He is a dedicated vocalist and can solve problems. He is also a man who acts well, and he has no difficulties with Miki, but has a big obsession with Miku. His title is Ultimate Singer.

Miku Nomura[]

Miku is a 12-year-old girl who is an optimistic, energetic and friendly girl who never fears anything, and is one year younger than Miki. She is often jealous if Hayato has a big obsession with her. Surprisingly, she loves going on a journey, but she is a dedicated gem collector. According to this, her title is Ultimate Collector.

Nanase Ozawa[]

Voiced by: Yui Horie (Japanese), Luci Christian (English)

Nanase is a 13-year-old girl who is the same age as Miki. She is a gentle and innocent girl, acting confidently in battle. She often develops feelings for her friends and has a strong passion for Miki. As she discovers something with the team and around the world, her title is Ultimate Explorer.

Chizuru Sugisaki[]

Chizuru is a 11-year old-girl who is one year younger than Miku. She is a bright, decisive and truly energetic girl, is not afraid to try anything, and has the ability to manipulate magic. She is in Miki's team, but has a short temper and usually attacks enemies severely. She is also good at casting spells to knock out enemies, even if they are about to attack the team. Thus, her title is Ultimate Wizard.

Miho Takeoka[]

Voiced by: Madoka Asahina (Japanese), Lauren Landa (English)

Miho is a 14-year-old girl who is the same age as Haruhi. She is a realist, and is a stylish fashionista often acting like a queen. She can also use her Royal Stick to hit enemies with a blow. She joins Miki's team to experience her dream of being her friend. Her title is Ultimate Queen.

Aiko Watanabe[]

Voiced by: Yumiri Hanamori (Japanese), Tia Ballard (English)

Aiko is a 13-year-old girl who is the same age as Nanase and Miki. She is a pure and straightfoward adventurer who gets calmed whenever she is upset. She first learns to become a karate master and be better at knocking out foes with her moves. Whenever she does, she yells out "Touche!" or "Got you!" and tends to be trained be a real master. Due to this, her title is Ultimate Martial Artist.

Miyako Koizumi[]
