Weatherly family is one of the most important families in Scooby-Doo! series.
History
Warren Weatherly realized that both of them would become a deadly threat to the universe and made Janice Weatherly's third-born daughter Irene Weatherly, whom she once saved, promise to kill both of them. Warren's wife, Katrina Weatherly had also adopted Fauntleroy Donaldson and used him as a rival for her elder son Jonah and her infamous son-in-law Augustus Raven.
Katrina also forcefully seized the control of the family corporation from her mother-in-law Nancy Weatherly (her children's paternal grandmother) and had her imprisoned in the abandoned high school, believing her to be pathetic and weak. The same year, Warren was killed by her after he tries to assassinate her. Warren had tried to kill her earlier too, though she initially believed he had a dual personality disorder. This was proven to be false all along when he reveals his zombified form and stated he was actively trying to kill her in order to protect his newborn nephew Ashton Weatherly.
Nancy Weatherly's grandson-in-law Augustus Raven, however, realized that Katrina was responsible for killing his grandmother-in-law Nancy and also the death of his father-in-law Warren Weatherly, despite the fact that he hates him so much. The 22 years old Augustus Raven fought his mother-in-law near a cliff in the same year and was mercilessly beaten within an inch of his life. In order test whether it was the Raven blood that possessed the boar demon blood, Katrina tossed her son-in-law off a cliff like a rag doll, which leads to the beginning of the events of the Scooby-Doo! series.
Recent history
Augustus confronted and defeated his mother-in-law in the first Queen of Iron Fist Tournament, and then took control of the Weatherly Enterprises, turning it into an anti-communist organization. He later organized the second tournament during the events of Scooby-Doo! The Revenge of Augustus Raven, during which he encountered his estranged mother Emily Raven, who sought to free him from the dark side within his body. Later on, Augustus married Katrina's smart-mouthed daughter named Miranda Weatherly. Their first-born son Dennis Raven was born seven months later, who also possessed the boar demon gene. Augustus was humiliated and defeated by his mother-in-law Katrina Weatherly in the second tournament and seemingly killed.
Eight years later, after the apparent demise of his paternal grandmother, Emily Raven, Dennis sought his maternal grandmother Katrina out and begged her to make him stronger, in order to prepare him for his paternal grandmother's apparent demise. Dennis was raised by his maternal grandmother for three years, and nd had a more amiable relationship with Katrina during this time than Katrina's sons and son-in-law had.
At the end of the third tournament Dennis was shot in the head by his maternal grandmother, triggering the awakening of his boar demon gene and transforming him into his boar demon form. From this moment on, Dennis has despised his Weatherly heritage and sought to undo the evil it represented. This has included fighting his father and maternal grandmother (who had been revived by Raven Corporation) in the aftermath of the fourth tournament. Dennis also defeated his maternal great-grandmother, Nancy Weatherly, who had been possessed by a boar demon after her death.
After killing Nancy Weatherly, Dennis assumed control of the Weatherly Financial Empire, and exhibited a more tyrannical and ruthless side. This led his maternal granduncle, Gary Weatherly, the father-in-law of Peter Oliver and Michael Oswalt in order to lead a coup against him. Since then, Gary has banded together with his adoptive nephew and Katrina's adoptive younger son, Fauntleroy Donaldson, to oppose the corporate war raging between Raven Corporation, now headed by Augustus Raven, and the Weatherly Financial Empire. The two later harbored Dennis from his enemies and now plan to use him to end the war once and for all. Katrina was brutally killed in a one-on-one fight with her infamous son-in-law Augustus, leaving Augustus the primary aggressor in a war against the superpower countries, and now pitched directly against his surviving uncle-in-law, adoptive brother-in-law and elder son.

The Weatherly family curse
All the main heroes and villains in the Scooby-Doo! series series are from the Weatherly family. Despite having many bitter enemies outside their family, thei bitter rivalries with one another are often more important to them, and occupy most of their attention. There is a 'curse', as described by Augustus Raven in Scooby-Doo! The Revenge of Dennis Raven, that causes them to turn against each other. However, this only seems to have begun with Katrina as no Weatherly before her is known to have displayed the same behavior and personality.
Weatherly blood
Those of Weatherly blood have the ability to enhance their fighting style with a Ki that takes the form of electricity. This electricity can be seen in many of their attacks, especially when they are performing certain moves such as Rising Uppercut or Thunder Legs. These electric attacks are unique and distinguishable, to the point where Augustus Raven was able to recognize both Kyle and Gary Weatherly as his uncles-in-law by the presence of this electricity alone. The electricity in these attacks is a different color for each Weatherly (indicated in brackets below).

- Scooby-Doo! Savage Retribution story-se was meant to serve as the conclusion of the "Weatherly family saga" and answer (amongst other Scooby-Doo! mysteries) many questions regarding the family. However, whilst the story has progressed to the point where Katrina Weatherly has finally been killed by her infamous son-in-law Augustus Raven, the family's saga still continues, with Augustus Raven apparently now as the series' main villain while his infamous cousin-in-law Andrea Weatherly apparently now as the series main secondary villainess.
- Every direct descendent of Nancy has at some point been in charge of the Weatherly Financial Empire.
- Augustus Raven was not the first Weatherly family member to make contact with the boar demon, and that both Augustus and his infamous elder son Dennis believe it started with Nancy Weatherly but only Katrina Weatherly really knows who it was.
